The Two Fatalities Revealed in the Ivy League School Shooting as Police Persist in Manhunt for Perpetrator.

The pair of scholars who were killed in the recent tragic incident on the university campus had tributes paid to them on Monday – while an intensive search for their killer persisted following the discharge by Rhode Island officials of the sole person questioned in the case.

Remembering Ella Cook

The student Ella Cook, a sophomore from Alabama, was remembered as “an incredible, grounded, faithful, bright light”, per the Advent Cathedral in Birmingham, which paid tribute to her at a service on Sunday.

Cook was second-in-command of Brown’s division of the College Republicans organization, according to the organization. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt also shared sympathies online, stating: “It's indescribable. Thinking of her family and friends, above all her mom and dad.”

The Second Victim

The other person killed was MukhammadAziz Umurzokov, from Uzbekistan in his first year of studies at the renowned school, family members said.

The victim's identification was verified by the foreign office of Uzbekistan.

“He was incredibly kind, funny, and smart. He harbored grand aspirations of entering the field of neurosurgery and helping people,” his sibling Samira said in a memorial statement.

What Happened

Nine more persons were hurt in the weekend shooting in the school of engineering of Brown’s university in Providence, during the institution's end-of-term tests.

Law enforcement reported on Sunday evening that a 24-year-man taken into custody in a police operation at a lodging about 17 miles from the campus earlier in the day was released from custody.

“There is a killer at large,” stated Rhode Island’s attorney general, Peter Neronha.

He added, “Investigations can lead one way, and then you must reassess and head another way, and that’s exactly what has happened over the last 24 hours or so.”

Ongoing Concerns

The gunman opened fire inside a lecture hall in the engineering building on over the weekend, discharging in excess of 40 shots from a handgun, a law enforcement official told the media outlet.
