Paramount Skydance Plans to Eliminate Around 2,000 United States Roles – News

Skydance Paramount plans to start large-scale job cuts the week of 27 October, cutting approximately 2,000 US jobs within a cost-cutting plan worth $2bn under top executive David Ellison.

The layoffs come after the merger of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, completed in August valued at $8.4bn.

Additional global layoffs are expected, with the company intending to disclose all specifics in its Q3 financial results set for the 10th of November.

Earlier reports stated the firm was looking to reduce between 2,000 to 3,000 positions by early November.

By December 2024, Paramount had nearly 18,600 workers on full-time and part-time contracts plus 3,500 temporary project employees.

The company has not provided a response on the matter.
