Chopper Spirals Out of Control into Palm Groves at Frequented California Coast
A chopper soaring above a crowded coastal coastline unexpectedly started spinning wildly, ultimately descending rapidly and crashing into a row of palm fronds as onlookers looked on.
Videos uploaded on the internet show the helicopter starting to spin above the shoreline then descending near the perimeter of the shore, where it gets stuck amidst palms and a staircase near the coastal road.
Emergency Response Details
The Huntington Beach fire department reported five individuals were transported to a medical facility including two who were in the aircraft and were “rescued from the debris” subsequent to the accident on Saturday.
Three people on the road were injured. Specifics on their condition were not yet released.
The cause of the crash was not yet disclosed.
